Some Information on the History of Batusi

Batusi is a new company operational in the field of the supply of petroleum products to government departments and parastatals, mining and transport companies and other bulk users.

Batusi’s shareholding is held by Tracmac Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.

Batusi is a multi-faceted distributor with a management structure capable of addressing a multitude of upstream and downstream petroleum needs including additives of the highest quality and specifications. Upstream refers to the supply of crude oil through networks of major oil producers, while downstream refers to the demands for additives, oils, greases and refined products (Petrol, diesel, etc.), and delivery to end users in the broader marketplace. Both aspects of aspects of the business require a high level of support and knowledge regarding the specific requirements of the oil industry.

All our Directors come from previously disadvantaged communities. Batusi is endowed with different business skills due to its members coming from different backgrounds. Our combined Plant Maintenance and Petrochemical industry experience is 25 years. Plant Maintenance experience was mainly gained in both light and heavy Manufacturing industries, Sea going Vessels, Mining and Petrochemical industries. The significant petroleum industry experience has been gained mainly, in Sales and Marketing functions, providing Engineering support to customers.

Abraham McNellie - Chief Executive Officer
Abraham McNellie has held a number of Engineering Maintenance positions, including that of Engineering Maintenance Manager. He has experience working with pressured vessels, having worked for Afrox and has extensive hands on metals machining experience. Abraham worked with both pneumatics and hydraulics equipment. His experience also includes working as a Plant Tribologist having acquired extensive lubricants working knowledge.

One of his major achievements was working as a plant Superintendent for a big manufacturing concern in the island of Brunei. Abraham is a qualified Fitter and Turner by trade and holds a Diploma in Plant Maintenance Management and Certificate in Production Management from Damelin Business College.
